Looks to me like Tiger has some major problems to work out. He may never get back to the old Tiger. And those of you that complain we in the sports media still talk about a guy this is basically not relevant now, I say there is an ongoing story here. Tiger changed the world of golf for the better. More people tuned in because of Tiger. Now the story has changed. People want to know what’s next for Tiger. Will he just eventually flutter away? Or will he figure this out and make a great comeback, winning a major or two? Look, no one has stepped up and become the next major player that everyone will watch. There is a different winner every time there is a major played. I don’t think that is good for golf. No one is becoming that big star where millions of fans will adore them, buy their stuff … and talk about on the sports radio station.

I’m watching/listening to the US Open this weekend. It’s sure nice to see Rory playing good. Maybe he’s the new “Tiger?” Will we ever see Tiger win another championship? I don’t think so. With all these new guys coming up, I think we’ve seen Tiger in his prime. I may be wrong … only time will tell, right?

Mike and Mike this morning brought up the possibility of LeBron being the best NBA player ever. In my opinion it’s Michael Jordan. Not only was he a great all around player, he was a great leader.

What about NFL? I liked watching Barry Sanders, and Dan Marino.

Coach Weston Schartz stopped by the studio this week. It was great to talk with him. He’s perhaps the best high school football coach in Wichita. Weston attended Southeast, as did I. I would love to see him coach SE. Anyone at SE that turns away not only a SE alum, but a coach a good as Weston, needs their head examined.

Major League Baseball is talking about adding some wildcard games, making an already too long season longer. Last year games were in November! Really? A perfect baseball season would run late April thru Sept, with Oct for World Series. That’s enough.
