Jury to begin deliberations in Joseph Randle trial

April 20, 2017 - 4:46 am

WICHITA, Kan. (KNSS) - Former Wichita high school football star and Dallas Cowboys tailback Joseph Randle took the stand in his own trial Wednesday against the objection of his Defense attorney Steven Mank. Randle faces charges of aggravated battery, destruction of property and other charges after an incident at a party in February of 2016.

KSN News says Randle insisted in front of the jury that he was a victim and felt threatened that night. Prosecutors say he deliberately struck three people while driving onto the lawn of the homeowner.

Before the defense and prosecution rested their cases, the defense asked Judge Kevin O’Conner to dismiss all the charges. The judge did not agree with the request. The jury will begin deliberations Thursday.
